New to DACs sample rates

I have a Rega dac on loan until new one arrives, bought based on reviews, and my budget.

I have connected Cambridge CDP and Cambridge Amp with B&W 685s

Question is I have coax from CDP to Dac, 44 k lights up at what point does the sample rate get higher? For CDP

Are high sample rates only for other inputs ie USB?

or am I missing something?

CD standard (Red Book) is 44.1KHz/16bit.
