first time here, looking for a complete upgrade. i am happy with the sound of my system but the av side seems to be a premium now. thinking of a denon 2808 or 3808, panny bd30 blu ray, also need a good cd, mainly rock music

Would help to know which speakers you have. We gave the Denon AVR-2808 four stars last years, so it's a fine and flexible performer, but you could do better.

No argument with the Panasonic Blu-ray player, but what kind of budget do you have for the CD player?
