I have just Purchased Sony STRDA1200ES with Q Acoustics 1030 fronts and 1000c centre. I am looking to add a new sub next and then recable the whole setup. Is the Q acoustics Si Sub worth the extra £80 compared to the standard S (Both on Superfi). Cabling wise what level should I go for. I heard that unless your amp and speakers are in the £2000 plus bracket then there no point in spending lots of money on the cables. I will need 2 optical cables, a sub lead and all new speaker cable (Prob up to 30m). Also is bare wire vs banana plugs worth all the extra? Which brands should I stear towards and which avoid??

Optical cables for your system, I don't see why these would not do: http://www.audiovisualonline.co.uk/dynamic/eshop_products.set/ref/1434/fisual-digital-optical-cable-1m-pro-install-series/display.html For subwoofer cable, this is good value and it also comes in 5m and 10m lengths - depends where you want to put your sub. http://www.audiovisualonline.co.uk/dynamic/eshop_products.set/ref/1456/fisual-subwoofer-cable-3m-pro-install-series/display.html As for speaker cable, as you are running all your cables to your receiver, I think it's just easier having banana plugs to pull out and back in again. You can get very decent speaker cable like these and ask for them to be terminated at exact lengfhs with plugs or you can buy plugs and fit them yourself. http://www.audiovisualonline.co.uk/dynamic/eshop_products.set/ref/758/qed-micro-speaker-cable-white/display.html - the charges for the Airloc plugs are expensive and you could buy good quality plugs like these http://www.audiovisualonline.co.uk/dynamic/eshop_products.set/ref/2153/fisual-easy-fix-banana-plugs-4-pack/display.html As for subwoofer, I would go for the WHARFEDALE DIAMOND SW150 which is on Superfi's website at only £199. It's supposed to be brililant - I wouldn't worry about matching the sub with your speakers. Either that sub or look second hand on ebay - most people have their subs hidden away so you can get a really special sub for the same sort of money as you are willing to spend for new.
