It's chunkier than the average LCD, that's for sure. Sadly I don't have any weighing scales to hand, but i'll ask Philips for clarification - if anyone's around this close to Christmas....
Harrowman:With great difficulty I have just hoisted the TV onto my bathroom scales. Yep 33Kg on the nose. Perhaps my scales are a bit out but not that much.
I think you're weighing it with the stand on. Without the stand, it's 22.6kg. Otherwise that's an awful spelling mistake by Philips online.

That's with the stand according to philips website Bigboss, without it was around 20kg.
Philips can't even weigh its TVs properly! The link I posted weighs the Philips at 27.4kg with the stands. Let's gift a good pair of bathroom scales to Philips this Christmas!
You may well be right. But looking at the stand I would not think it weighed 10Kg, I could be wrong. Anyway what does it matter what it weighs unless you expect to be moving it about every day.
Another point is that the depth of this set would make it difficult to wall mount especially as all the inputs connect to the back of the set. I suspect most users would use the set stand mounted.
I have just read the manual more carefully. The Weight is stated at 28Kg without the stand and 33Kg with the stand. This means the stand weighs 5Kg. That is very likely.
Just to confirm Clare's findings. The zero on my bathroom scales was set incorrectly, have re-weighed at 24Kg within the margin of error for the scales +/- 2kg. They are fairly cheap scales. Hope this put a line under this weight thread.

That's good then that's the sort of weight I wanted it to be.
As you may have noticed, I've been away since December 16, and am now sitting in a lounge in Helsinki Airport waiting for a snow-delayed flight back to London.
