I am sure Oppo leaked a photo of a unit or a display with a date in Jan 2017 on it - giving nothign away but it was their UHD Player I am sure.

Cant remember where I saw it - very likely on AVF or on here

Its the date thats all important - shame not in time for Xmas as it would be a nice present idea although I expect there to be a 300 and 500 model same as currently but who knows maybe just 1 model.

If its just 1 model you can expect it to be expensive and the 105D has held its retail price since new - nothing does that in mass market AV

Looking forward to Dolby Vision if it has it, saw a demo of it again in John Lewis today.

I am GUESSING November 2016 here, just in time for Thanksgving at then end of November. I'll keep you posted.

I don't think Oppo do Black Friday! Incidently a replacement remote control for the 105 costs $12 in the US. That has to be the best value for money in the World.

It's not about Black Friday. I very much doubt people interested in Oppo gear even bother going out on that horrible day. I certainly don't. Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the AV and Xmas spending season. It ends after the Superbowl. This coming February 5th, it happens to be in Houston.

Well, if you have a spare ticket ....

Here's how things work.

A billionaire businessman decides he wants an NFL franchise in his home town.

So he puts up the money for the team, but gets the local government to pay for the stadium, in our case to the tune of $352million. It's right next to the Astrodome, by the way, which is semi-derelict and no-one can figure out what to do with it.

That $352million is repaid by a levy on all hotel rooms in the city. In Houston there is 6 percent state tax, 7 percent Houston tax, 2 percent Harris County tax and 2 percent Harris County - Houston Sports Authority tax, the latter to pay for the stadium. So you're paying 17% tax on your hotel room, but that's by the by.

Anyway, 2% hotel tax goes to pay for the stadium.

In return, the billionaire makes some tickets available to the general public. At Reliant Stadium, there's about 2,000 I believe, in a 72,000 ish seat stadium.

Wow.

We taxpayers pay for a stadium, but only 2,000 tickets are avialable for each of the eight home games. In a metropolitan area of six million people.

Now, for the Superbowl, the tickets are divvied up thus:

74.8 percent of tickets are split among the NFL teams
  • 5 percent to the host city's team - these go to season ticket holders and "special" people decided by the franchise, not to the scumbag general public
  • 17.5 percent to the AFC champion
  • 17.5 percent to the NFC champion
  • 34.8 percent are distributed among the remaining teams (1.2 percent per team)
25.2 percent of all Super Bowl tickets are controlled by the NFL and distributed among companies, sponsors, media and networks.

So. Next time you see Lord Lucan or Jimmy Hoffa riding Shergar through Windsor Great Park....
