Actives are fine but do have limited connectivity. So if you have analogue equipment, I'd look at separates.

I'd personally look at either Rotel, Creek or Roksan. The speakers I'd being interested in are B&W, Focal or Epos.

110's may be physically small but don't let that fool you. don't know about the actives but the passives can do monster bass and play loud cleanly.
