Hello everyone, I just joined as I found this site very useful when shopping for a new TV and Blueray Home Cinema system.

Due to budget constraints I went with the system in my Sig below. The home cinema all-in-one is 5.1 and I have a question on rear (surround) speaker placement.

My flat's living room space is shared with the kitchen area meaning that it only has a front and one side (left) wall, the rear wall is the entrance way and the other side (right) is the kitchen. I have stands for the two rear speakers but I am stumped as to where to place them.

Any ideas would be great.

Thanks.

Behind the sofa or at the side of the sofa, if it's at the side of the sofa it doesen't have to be up close it could be a couple of feet away.

Thanks for the reply.

I was reading and found that side is preferred to behind but I guess that is minimal for occasional movies requiring real surround effects.
