My first hi fi system in the sixties included a used, bulky, table-mounted Rek-O-Cut broadcast turntable
(purchased from the campus radio station which was replacing equipment),
a new DynaKit preamplifier that I needed help building,
a used McIntosh MC225 amplifier purchased from a camera shop of all places,
and new KLH Model Seventeens.
The system did three years of service in my college apartment.
That was roughly one million years ago, but I remember it well.
