I currently have a Panasonic TH42PZ800 and its a great TV but I am in need of a new TV for another room and have been considering Tv's from Samsung, Philips etc. I would probably have the new TV as my main TV with my Denon receiver and B & W 684 kit but i am a little unsure if i should wait until march to see whats coming out or just buy now.

I have been looking at a few models from Samsung and Philips aswell as Sony but i am a little put off the Sony due to the issues i have read about.

I would be looking to spend about £1500 and would be looking at 42" or 46"

Any ideas or has anyone got a particular TV that they think is out of this world.

You may as well wait a few months for the main players in the market to release the 2010 models. A bit of patience and you'll no doubtedly get a lot more for your money.

do you mean wait for the new tv's or grab one that current model.

I think 'you may as well wait' means 'wait'. But I am not sure how Davee is so sure about the quality and pricing of what's coming...

Andrew,

do you have any idea when you might be reviewing/expecting the next wave of TV's, i am like anyone else i like to read reviews before i buy.

Models will start trickling in from Spring. Review depends on when the TV is available for review.

Well i went and did it, i did not actually mean to buy anything but we took our ice cream maker back to comet and came out with a Samsung UE46B8000.

We were not planing to buy anything but we had some vouchers of significant value to use and comet had no stock of this online and it was just there so WE BOUGHT IT.

i do have a question though if anyone can answer, If i am using the wireless dongle to transfer a film from my pc and use wireless N how can i get the sound to go through my speakers that are connected to my receiver.

Well, looks like you won't be needing our advice after all mark8par! But you've made an excellent choice - it's a great TV.

As for the question about sound from your PC to receiver, I'll have to check that out with one of our technical team on Monday.

You'll need either a receiver able to accept wireless, or a client unit like an Airport Express, although AFAIK these will limit you to stereo, not surround.

The receiver i have is a Denon AVR4308A and as you know it has wireless but i am unsure as to how it will work together.

With the TV having wirless capability i would like to get the most out of it.
