Hi, Iam looking to replace my existing cd source which is a cyrus 7Q with PSX, cyrus 7 pre and cyrus mono blocks giving out 150 watts each. My speakers at present are spender s8 with various interconects. I have been looking at musical fidelity tri vista cd/sacd, nu vista cd musical fidelity A5 and a couple of shanling. Is it better to forget the sacd format and go for the straight cd option or, would i get better value and better matching to look at other cd players on the market.

I like to listen to classical, acoustic, easy listening and jazz occassionaly electronic. As you can see i have a wide musical interest. My listening room is 20ft by 12.5 ft. Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

Hi

Shadow Audio has 2nd hand Mcintosh MCD 201 for a good price, it will gel in your system superbly.

The big Mac sounded great with cd and even better in SACD form, very natural with pin sharp imaging and details that will challenge the £5K Marantz.
