Here in the States, there have been some massive discounts on Cambridge Audio electronics throughout the range. Should I expect to see the V.3 soon?

Not until well into 2009, a long time away, before then we have numerous other new products including our Fusion integrated system and new compact "Sonata" separates (as reported by What Hi-Fi?) so plenty to keep us going before you see replacements for 540/640 products which continue to sell well.
