Need Stereo Advice

Hey fellas, I need some advice! A friend of mine handed down to me a Topping tp22 amp, and I am looking to build a small stereo setup for my bedroom. I plan on initially using this to stream siriusxm from my iphone6s. My questions are...

1) Is it worth it for me to get a DAC to stream via thunderbolt/usb? Or should I simply just get a 3.5mm - rca adapter and plug straight into the amp? Any DAC recommendations?

2) For now (until I can save up) I will be using some Polk T15 speakers I had previously used for rear surround. Is it best to hook these up normally, or should these be ran in series? These are 8ohm speakers. Any advice on future speakers to use with this amp? Budget in the 200-300$ range. From simple forum lurking I've been eyeing the Elac B6's.

3) Does anyone know if the siriusxm app outputs decent quality audio vs regular mp3's on my phone (which I imagine aren't all that great as it is)

Thanks in advance!

If Sirius supports Airplay (I have no idea), you could use an Airport Express - stream to it from the phone, and connect to the amp with a 3.5mm to RCA cable. The AE handles DAC duties. It may not be the best in the world, but adding one to my system was one of the best value-for-money things I've bought. A vast, vast inmprovement from using the same cable straight from iPhone 6 (or iPad) to amplifier.

As for speakers in that range, there are plenty of people on this forum who'll be able to give you some great advice. One thing we will all say though, is to try and arrnage to listen to as many of the models you are interested in as possible first. Then, assuming you have budget - just buy the ones you like best!

Good luck!!!

Thanks for the reply. I never would have guessed going wireless would be a viable option.
