Hi everyone,

I am looking for an Integrated amplifier to join the following components:

- Denon 5910ci

- Gershman X1-R from Gershman acoustics, speaker specs are the following:

Frequency Response 40Hz-20kHz
Sensitivity 87dB @ 1w/1m
Recommended Power 40-200 watts
Nominal impedance 8 Ohms
Height 15 inches
Footprint 11 inches by 13.75 inches

Weight 25.7 pounds

I have been told that I will need a 120w per channel.

For an excellent amp, I will go up to 1000-1200 Euros.

Does someone can guide me on the right amp to buy.

Thanks a lot guys.

Lou

Hmm, unusual to get no replies to a question like this...

I'm no expert, but what sort of sound are you looking for?

the point about 'needing' 120W is nonsense. As an lateral extension to this point, cheaper amps (in the price range you propose) with high watt outputs are usually fairly poor. You might be plesantly surprised at the performance you get from an amp in the 40-60w range.

First of all thanks for helping me.

I had a discussion with Mr. Gershman himself at the Montreal Audio Salon 3 weeks ago and he told me that I will get better results with his speakers (X-1R) if I utilize a 120W Integrated amplifier.

I have nothing in mind for now, maybe a Creek, Advance Acoustic, Linn,..

I am asking you guys as experts in order to help me chosing the best set up to play these wonderful speakers. My budget could be slighlty extent to 1800 Euros.

I am listening to any kind of music, from classical to hard rock, so I will need a versatile amp.

Thanks again for taking your time to respond, it is apprecisted.

Louis
