neat vs spendor

Anybody ever made a direct comparaison between the spendor SA1 and Neat petite SX.Also compared the A5/6 to the neat motive 2 SE.I m using a cyrus 8XPD.love standmount speakers but with 2 toddlers I think I d prefer a sturdy floorstander that is still relatively small but performs well. I am more into listening music at low/medium level so I am looking for great clarity and detail over boom boom bass...

i have directly compared the Spendor SA1 with the Neat Motive 3 which isnt quite what you asked but close. On the basis that the Neat Petite SX is even better than the Motive 3 i would have to say they must be excellent and are on my shortlist to upgrade to soon.

both these speakers are amongst the most highly recommended in the price range from various reviews and sources. The Spendors have an excellent mid-range which is slightly more emphasised whereas the Neats have better, tighter and punchier bass and better overall balance. i thought both were very detailed and clear and would fit what you wanted in principal.

it is one of those cases that i would try and hear to decide because they are presenting differently and depending on your taste will determine which you like more. also you are using Cyrus which are very different to my Arcams and so may change things.

in my case i preferred the Neat Motive 3 as the better of the two so that augers well for the Petites at the same price as the SA1.

I used to have Neat Motive 2's and traded them in for a pair of Spendor A5's. Could never get on with the Neat's in my room, the treble was a touch shrill and the base a bit overpowering with the close to wall placement I needed. Couldn't be happier with the Spendor's, the mid-range is sublime.

As ever the only way you will tell for certain is to audition both in your own room, the Neat's were great on dealer demo, but I just couldn't live with them long term in my room!

Ive never heard Neat, but god damm i love splendor speakers !!!!

If speakers wernt so big and bulky to sell on id order some splendors right away...lol
