Petites rear vent ports sensitive to rear wall positioning?
I am concerned they actuallyshipwith port bungs; Do they not impair the sound quality ?

The Neats bungs are for the larger port, leaving the smaller port open....plenty of bass, detail and clarity in this (default) configuration, if you bung both ports, that's when the sq is slightly compromised, both ports open.....you'll need them in plenty of space....I'm still bamboozled with the sound quality from the Neats.....I've actually just shifted them into the my wee summer house with the Electrocompaniet.( Just a bit of fun).....it's just a bit too much for that small 2x2x2 space....I'm having to eq the bass on the Wiim ultra to reduce the boom...they're absolutely bang on in my living room space 3.8x4.9 metres...and they sound superb with either my Electrocompaniet ( class A/B) or My Brooklyn Bridge and Brooklyn amp plus (class d)....oh and very nice also with my previous primaluna Dialogue premium hp amplifier.
I can't see to many issues in your office space as long as you can get them just a bit away from the wall.

For me to get the best sound close to the wall is to use the HPF on the amp so all the low reverb and vibrations go to the subwoofer and not on your desk.

Are the Neat petite classic speakers really woth their high price?
Spendor A1.2 and Epos ES-7N speakers are made to place close to a wall by design.

Good cheaper alternatives:
  • KEF LS50 Meta
  • B&W 707 S3
  • Dynaudio Evoke 10
  • Spendor A1.2
  • Epos ES-7N

also under consideration are ATC SCM7 , but am interested in the Petites owner feedback also

They’d be able to go 150-200mm from rear wall.
In free space at sides
That's around the distance I have from the wall...somewhere in between, It also helps that the Neats are quite a shallow speaker at just 18cm's deep, so you can push them to the very front of the stands. I'll also bring them out into free space when her indoors is away...lol
