Hi all

I have recently installed a qnap212 and put abou 100gb of cd rips onto it. Buying a superuniti as soon as available however my broadband ( bt infinity) has started dropping out on a daily basis

would the streamer be putting a load on the router to cause this or is it unrelated?

Are you accessing the NAS at the moment (I mean prior to buying the Uniti, not right at this second)? Streaming audio (but more to the point video) will put a load on the router's backbone, however I wouldn't have thought this would cause the broadband connection to drop, does the router actually disconnect from the internet?

If you'll be wiring the Uniti (I would), you could by a separate switch and plug the NAS and Uniti into that, that will relieve the strain on the router's backbone, unless you stream wirelessly.

I had a similar issue with bt/nas and changed the bt unit channel to one that wasn't in use my neighbours, etc. it works fIne now. You can download apps to tell you which channels are free.
