I have borrowed a naimuniti to try. The concept and the sound are great, but there is just one problem: Radio 3 keeps dropping out.
The uniti is installed in a different room from where the Wi-Fi access point is. Our nominal 10Mb/s broadband measures at about 5.5Mb at the router, and in the uniti room the wifi download rate is about 1.2Mb. Surely this should be enough even for R3, which streams at 192Kb. Radio 1 and Radio 4 seem to be perfectly OK. Usually Radio 3 drops out just for a few seconds, and returns at exactly the same spot in the programme, but sometimes it just stops and doesn't come back. The naim's buffer indicator stays at 5 bars on Radio 4, but on Radio 3 it sometimes dips to 4 or 3, and even once to 1 bar, though never to none. Can the problem be the difference between R4's 128K and R3's 192K, even though there should be 6x redundancy with the signal we've got?
Any ideas?
