Naim Vertical Form - Active Speakers, which seems to be a rapidly growing segment OR something completely different?

Hi Rick!

what is your bet regarding the new Naim product?

Not even the Naim followers knows what it is:

Kind regards

Judging by the screencap on the Naim thread, and the three rectangle logo, my guess is a Meridian Sooloos-esque product, feeding either active speakers, or a pair of funky looking upright power amps.

Naim have built up a great reputation with regard to streaming devices, with an excellent app that works. If they can fit that in with an active speaker type of product (that sounds good), I think they'd be on to a winner.

And I have to say that is a pretty awesome teaser - it's up there with Godzilla!

What Naim need right now are some speakers that are aimed at Nait 5si / UnitiLite / UnitiQute 2 / NAP100 users. (Or even Nait XS 2 / Uniti 2 users).

Their smallest Ovator speakers are £3650 and the little nSats are long out of production.

They need some smaller speakers that cost around £800 - £1000 (or thereabouts) to draw their 'entry level' and Uniti customers.

A very high end, expensive power amp, probably costing around 40k (pounds).

To be followed by a matching preamp.

With all that expensive finnage it's going to a 'flagship' item and way beyond our budgets unless we have any drug lords or Russian oligarchs lurking here incognito. (PP?)

Guessing the price range: £ 1500 - £ 5000

I'll raise you another zero on the highest of your guesses.

Adjusting for an extra power supply, also:

£ (2*1500) - £ (50000+5000)

"without compromise", make it £ 50000
