J i saw that what im saying is if the open box is more expensive there could be even more discount on th open box after a phone call !

I might call them tomorrow but need to demo first cant do that until next week .The idea is to keep the Stereo 70 for HDMIS and use the Naim for stereo only but i would have to get a phono stage thats more cost. I have no knowledge or experience with a phono stage .My brother has a few maight give him a call if i go for it .

I will see if my local store has one next week to demo.It will have to make a big impression for me to buy it due to tha lack of a phone stage that will be more money.

Yes I suppose if you're buying new a half-decent phono pre is going to add £200 & somewhat negates the savings.

Exactly what I thought.recently statred listening to my CD player via optical has made a big impression on me it sounds so much better and i think im happy with the sound now.
The only thing i noticed with my current Amp when playing the CD via optical my tone controls dont work, it say unavailable why is that ?.
I wont use them just curious .
