Nad C542,C545 or C565 with C352 for metal and rock

which one of the nads c542,c545 or c565 together with the c352 amp will be best for metal and riff oriented rock pls?good bass as timing and punch are essential.. :rockout:

The C545BEE is the best out of the lot of them (the C565BEE is basicaly the 545 but with USB input)

The 545 has a solid, punchy and open soundstage BUT...

If youre open to suggestions I can highly recommend the Rega Apollo. I went from the C545BEE to the Apollo and it made a world of difference. It really is a superb CDP!

Thanx for the replays,i thought the synergy between the c352 and a nad cdp will be best..also the rega is more expensive..is the c545 really much better than c542?

The synergy is very good indeed but the Rega works very well also.

Teh C545BEE is better than the C542. A better DAC and gives a much more open & detailed soundstage but with no harshness or brightness. Plenty of solid, deep, taut bass as well

obviously the c542 is gonna have to be sh,whereas the c545 could still be found brand new...is a sh cdp not a risk really considering nad cdp's reputation for developing a problem? :doh:
