I finally decided on this combo. I will be getting, likely a yamaha receiver to add the Nad to via preouts. However, just before purchasing I decided to google the combo and came upon some negative threads. For example, comments like: "blew my tweeters due to not enough power" or "the combo does not sound good due to the lack of power." I cannot get a more powerful nad due to unavalibility here in S.Korea. After a lot of research I settled on the Nad and really don't feel like going back to the drawing board.

Does anyone have any experience with these 6 ohm speakers and the Nad, or similar amp?

If these speakers are not good for the nad, then what is (not B&W, too expensive here)? I plan on getting a 5.1 set (non-standmount).

Really need some help here as I have to go blind. Actually I may already be due all the computer screen reading I have been doing over the last few weeks.. .

Thanks.. .

Regardless of whether it's 6 or 8 ohm's, if you require volume then look at the speaker sensitivity, because unless you're using in it a converted barn then 89db upwards will be sufficient.

Nad and Monitor Audio is a good match, just allow 8 - 12' minimum space for the speakers to breath.

I hear you, but I just don't want to blow my speakers in the near, or distant, future. I want to keep them! Plus, getting things done here in Korea is like pulling teeth at times. Hence, I want no issues after I buy!

Plastic, I thought the same way, but after a last minute google search, I got scared after a few forum threads. Damit.. .

Understand your concerns - if you play your music cranked up to number 11 then you are in serious danger of damaging the tweeter. At normal levels it'll be fine.

My Arcam A65 Plus (40 watts per channel) is played thru RS6's and it drives them fine - no problems whatsoever. It's only if you start distorting the sound that it causes problems.

The NAD also has 'Soft Clipping' which is supposed to prevent speaker damage in case its turned up too much.

The NAD delivers ~60Watts/ch into 6ohms, i highly doubt it will blow your speakers at normal or even moderate listening levels.
