Yeah. The Audiolab was slightly brighter and the bass didn’t go as deep as the Meridian.
I really need to put more effort in to listening to vinyl as the phono stage in that Luxman amp is a beauty.

They did, that's why you couldn't see them. The words liner & iceberg spring to mind.

I think he was indicating that his eye was most drawn to the amp, not that he literally didn't see anything else! The smiley was the giveaway, surely?

As big and imposing as they are, in the subdued light in the room in the evening, they really do disappear.
I find myself looking at the VU meters gently dancing away on the amp. And marvelling at the music it is producing. 😊 what an amp it is.

a little more progress today.
Denon 2900 dvd player added .
also won an auction for a Rotel CD14 cd player today.
hopefully that will be added at the weekend and all will be well. 😊

I know its proberly too early, but are you going to try the denon against the meridian as a CDP?

Ha! I’m already on with it 😊 curiosity definitely got the better of me.
first thing I did was stick a cd in it and hook up some interconnects

That brick sh*thouse styling goes great with the chunky Luxman!

Really? A entry-level Marantz with a 8-9k amplifier? (Yeah, I know he didn't pay the full retail price), nevertheless that Marantz is a fine player with a similar priced amp.
