Getting near completion - a pair of ATC SCM 7s (new model) just arrived.

The usual ATC cloth bags

Glilles are wrapped separately

Very heavy - abt 8 kilo each.

Here you can see how much of a curve is actually there (which is not visible on ony of the ATC published pics).

I do not fancy the grilles but here they are - a grille detail shot:

The stands can be used in reverse and that is how I will be using them as they will be positioned on top of book shelves so need to point down a bit.

I am setting them up now - position, calibration as well as figuring out if I want 7.1 or will 5.1 do.

I did get rid of the hum - by grounding the (new) receiver. The hum was not a DM5 issue, it was a ground loop in my system. I returned the DM5 as the the sensitivity of input was too high and the senistivity of the signal sensor was too low for my uses. DM5s are great - I just could not use them in my set-ups. I still plan to go all-active one day, but I need to find a suitable centre speaker first.

Well yes, that's kind of what I was expecting.

I'm not sure I understand - how does that mainfest itself?

going into standby when I want them to continue to play. The level of input signal was too low to keep the sensor 'on'

they look all right, plain but very solid style, finish quality is good.

Sound wise, I did not try them on thier own - maybe I should! I will. - but as rears they sound very good. I only tried them very briefly, did not have time yet to finish the set-up properly. this week-end hopefully.
