You asked about the Musical Fidelity Tri-Vista 21 DAC. I own one and absolutely love it. I run an all tube system from Quicksilver Audio, I have an Olive 4HD hooked up to the TriVista 21 DAC. One thing I can tell you is, GET a NEW POWER CABLE. I honestly almost got rid of this DAC until someone suggested upgrading the POWER CABLE. It made such an enormous difference that it's night and day. The unit is just too high-end for the freebie cable that comes with it and it is literally choked off from the crappy cable. I never believed in high-end power cables until this upgrade.
The cable I am using with it is a Voodoo Silver Dragon Power cable. Just google Voodoo Cable Company.. The digital cable also makes a very big difference and I am running a Data Link by Straight Wire. Unless you spend $5000 or up you will not find a better cleaner more open DAC. Mind you that this unit is 3 or 4 years old and it still cannot be replicated unless you go for $5000k.
