I presume they were trying to give a comparison to a real world, popular speaker, as they mentioned they were WHF's favourite sub £500 speaker.
We love this type of comparison because we really can't lose.

I could hear the difference through my av amp very clearly, but to show how good the muon sounds with the £500 3050 was a joke.

I watched that feature on the KEF Muons. I'm not sure what it set out to prove. Yes, the KEF speakers were humungously expensive (£140,000). Yes they went to ridiculous lengths in the production process (as befits £140,000 speakers). Yes they sounded a whole world better than the Q Acoustics 3050s and brought tears to the presenter's eyes. Interesting up to a point, but I was left with the feeling that the programme was just showcasing a massive piece of hi-fi bling with no great point to it. A straightforward comparison of normal-priced hi-fi speakers would have been a ton more interesting.

That was exactly the point. The title of the show, just in case no one has noticed was luxury items, hence Bentley, gold plated bling etc etc.
It was never meant to be a like for like hifi comparison.
Aaaanyhow, as I have mentioned over at PFM, how many shows are there that showcase any hifi?
At least the GS sometimes slip a few things hifi related in such as the blind test of compressed and lossless tracks a couple of years ago.
That just sums up how important hifi is in the greater scheme. - It isn't.

I thought it was OK and whilst it was extreme it did show that there is a difference in quality and price. To many £500 speakers are expensive HiFi.
