Mordaunt Short Mezzo 8

Hi all,

I have a pair of mordaunt short mezzos 8s, cambridge 640c cd player, affordable valve company amp model el34 ultra linear class A. with high end valves imported from the us, cambridge azur reference phono and qed silver anniversary speaker cable. to be honest im struggling for clairty, i had a pair of mordaunnt short 908s before, and they had more clarity. any ideas would be great. thanks in advance Tony

I recently auditioned a setup that consisted of

Mezzo 8's with CA Azur 840C; CA Azur 840E; CA Azur 840W

I spent a long time listening and personally did not enjoy the sound when compared to my old system ... yet many say this is a really good system ....

not sure what I disliked, and could have been due to the speakers ... bass was lacking

Hi thanks for the reply, was wandering if a pre and power amp might be better suited, as perhaps i need a tad more power than the valve can give me. to drive the speakers.
