Mission E54 - Any good?

Hi,

I'm on the lookout for new floorstanding speakers, and my local seems to have a good offer on a pair of discountied Mission E54. Can't seem to find much about this speaker.

Does anyone here know anything about this speaker? And is a pricetag of 350£/pair a fair price?

They look like they are based on the Mission 753 a classic design.

But were built after the Mission 'golden age' the 7xx period.

If you can get a listen I'd suggest you do. And then decide - in the 2nd hand market £350 can get you a good speaker.

I'd give them a miss, long after Mission's 75-series heyday and before IAG took them over.

Instead, I'd recommend adding £100 to your budget and getting a pair of Acoustic Energy AE22 actives direct from Acoustic Energy's EBay site instead. Nothing under £500 (and probably a good bit more) that'll beat them and they're reduced to half price.

Bit different looks wise from other speakers but they have a terrific performance in them. Highly recommended.
