Another coat, and the finish will be much better! They look great from a few feet away though.
Sound quality is very good: a smidge more top end will sort them right out... The mid is a touch recessed at present, and they're too bassy as the tweeters are too quiet. This will take ten minutes with the soldering iron to rectify, so not a major issue! I had the smaller, neodymium magnet versions of these tweeters before, and they were STUNNING. I left the resistors in place as the specs were very similar. Turns out they aren't needed, so I'll just bypass them.
I stupidly didn't think to take any pics during the build- suffice to say that, apart from the paint job and some new internal wiring/upgraded caps, I haven't done much to them.
However, I did very much regret picking the hottest day of the year so far to do the work. I had a thumping headache by the time I'd finished, and as a result didn't listen to them til this morning!
