any body using one of these ,if so how easy are they to use, i have bass problems so need a avr, for bass mangement as i only have a stereo amp; so i was thinking in the long run would this be a better buy. But they are £450! . as opposed to a £300 AVR,but avr,s are prone to breaking, any thoughts?

You will need to buy the UMIK1 as well, you might have factored that into your cost already but if not.

However its money well spent as you will start to learn about room acoustic which is priceless experience for this hobby

is going to cost a fortune

There is one for sale on AVF Classifieds now - brand new

This hobby is not cheap - cheap avr receivers will probably have poor bass management - dont quote me on that

If you have an antimode already you can still use that still - a monolith is a beast of a sub for that small room who advised you to buy that?

at the time i only had a mj acoustics pro 50 ,it was rubbishI had read so much about the monolith being so good(avf) i thought i would get one as i was more into movies than music than , looking back i should have got the XLS200 ,you are right avr EQ is rubbish I am a avf member to ,thought I recognized the name! Getting my kef ls50 back ,should never have sent them back ,but at the time I only had a stereo amp so no bass management, but this time there will be ,buying Avr,to tie me over, than improve on that at a later date

For stereo or stereo and sub setup i still like the idea of the Arcam sr250 or the lyngdorf tdai210 our whatever the model is.

Combination of both stereo setup but with some of the sound management of an av receiver. Good idea

i have a CXA60 stereo amp very pleased with it ,when i had the focal chorus 816V , i tested it to ear splitting levels ,the volume never went past 11,o clock for bass management a will use ; pre out from the marantz NR1506 to cxa60 not the perfect solution but suits my pocket
