I am guessing from your mentioning the Chordette Gem (Bluetooth A2DP and USB only) that you are looking for a USB DAC maybe?

The Paradisea+ is a Valve DAC with SPDIF and USB and digital co-axial inputs.

You may want to consider the Benchmark DAC1 USB (not the more expensive DAC1 Pre) which is around £800 - £900 depending where you buy it. It has 24 bit, 96khz capability with USB. I have seen some excellent reviews of their USB DACs.

The Chordette Gem (£399) was very favourably reviewed for it's USB performance in the latest Hifi News. (They did not make the most of the A2DP Bluetooth because the reviewer was not using Vista or OSX 10.5.x)

Oh yes (of course) WHF reviewed it too.....
