Maybe hypothetical comparison: Panasonic 46PZ81 or P46G10

Getting close to parting with money to upgrade my 28" CRT, and the two current leaders are per the title. Has anyone seen the new TX-P46G10 and compared to the older model, and with prices for 46PZ81 now £999 with 5yr guarantee, is the new model worth £400 more?

I am waiting for all of the 2009 models to be released. The TX-P46G15 model is supposed to be half the width of the G10 model. I am in the same situation as yourself and am deliberately holding back until all of the models are available.

The 46G10 is £1144 online. Definitely worth the extra. If you hang on a little till it's more available you can get a pricematch with JL and get the 5yr guarantee (pricematch with Richer Sounds, Sound & Vision...)

Thanks for the advice. I had seen the TV lower than£1399, so will sit and wait.

One further twist is the Samsung LED recommended by someone on the forum as being a fantastic 46"! May need another trip to view this one.

hi rtl i made a order for the new samsung series 5 2009 1080p 50 inch plasma but i have to wait 5 weeks for delivery so you know what i was surfing the web when i came across the panasonic th 46pz81 for £1089 with free 5 year guarantee i couldn't resist and took the plunge. I'ts hard to wait sometimes for new tvs so i ordered the panasonic and i'm sure that i will be very satisfied with my purchase i also feel that the older panasonics build quality looks alot more solid than the new 2009 range for some reason the newer ones look alot more cheaper build wise but what ever you decide i'am sure you will be happy with i've also seen a review for both tvs and they both got very good reviews so the choice is yours good luck.
