Marantz !!!

Having been out for a while now, I was wondering if anyone has purchased or demo'd the new Marantz SR5005 or 6005 and if they're as good as the 6004 was?

I have to say that I was suprised that WHF didnt even mention them in this months mag. Just the usual Sony, Pioneer, Yamaha & Onkyos. Especially considering how many questions ive seen about them on various forums.

AFAIK Marantz review samples weren't available for that test.

Sorry Andrew I dont understand. What do you mean by 'weren't available' ? Theyve been in the stores for weeks now. If I had the time I could have popped into any number of stores to demo them. I'm not being funny honestly I just find it odd that 'Joe Bloggs & Co' can get them in but WHF cant

I believe Andrew is referring to review samples sent from the manufacturer. WHF don't buy everything they test. This would be enormously expensive.

i got the sr5005 several weeks ago (check towards the end of the thread in my sig). I did not compare it directly with anything excpet my old Teac 580 receiver but it sounds good enough for me!

note I only use it for TV and Bluray sound. Main stereo playback is separate.
