Marantz PM 6003 in US

The reviews I have read about the Marantz PM6003 seem very well suited for my needs and price range. However, it does not seem as if this amplifier is sold in the US. The US equivalent (PM5004) did not fare as well in the reviews. Will I run into problems with using a converter to power the PM6003? I would like an integrated amplifier with a good phono preamp at around the $500 price range. I am open to suggestions.

add a li'l more to your budget, i used to have the rotel RA04 SE. a very good budget amp.
