Hi!

Since Rotel and NAD don't produce CD changers anymore, the choice is between Marantz CC4003 or Yamaha CDC 600 or 697. Has anyone here heard any of these, how they compare? I can get 697 for 170 GBP and Marantz would probably be more than 350 GBP. I don't have opportunity to audition them, so I would appreciate suggestions. The rest of the system will most probably consist of NAD C326BEE and Wharfedale Diamond 9.1, used for listening to classical music only.

form my experience with yamahas cd players I've heard before the treble can be quite fizzy so..I wouldn't buy one.

Apart from the ease of not having to change the CD once listened to; why do you want a CD Changer?

I've demo'd a few in the past and they've never matched the sound quality of their sibling one CDP's.

You could try out the - if you can find it - Sony multi-disc version of the 597 SACD player. Popular on one or two US forums I've been on and fairly cheap. Good transport, five disc capability, SACD and decent Sony build. Worth checking out possibly.
