Marantz NR1601 - anyone got this?

Hi, anyone got the Marantz NR1601 av amp?

What's it like?

I'm moving soon, will have a bit less space and thinking of flogging my entire system except my Blu-ray and telly. Am thinking of getting this and small av speakers line CA's new Minx which can be nicely hung on the wall with a nice compact subwoofer - they offer 2 surround sizes and 3 sub sizes! Genius!

I have the last model the NR 1501 and its a fantastic unit i needed a slimline amp to fit in the tv cabinet, the last one i had was a pioneer 5.1 all in one system and it was a huge leap forward in sound, the obvious difference is the one your looking at has 3d pass through. Looks like i timed it wrong with my upgrade as i like the look of the new cambridge speakers and 3D is something i plan on upgrading to. Just seems the moment you get sorted something new and wonderous appears!

I will echo the views above about the NR1501 - it's a great bit of kit. Sorry, can't advise on the 1601 specifically but I suspect the two are broadly similar in performace but the NR1601 has the addition of 3D capability.

Thanks, what also appeals to me is the digital iPod connection to take care of music duty.
