marantz cd pm 6003 or 6004

NOT SURE WHICH WAY TO GO DO I BUY A SECONHAND PM6003 AND CD6003 FOR AROUND 180 OR PUSH THE BOAT OUT AND BUY THE 6004 PM AND CD FOR 280 EACH IS THERE THAT MANY DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THEM TO SPEND THAT EXTRA 200 POUNDS

I would mix and match. Pick up a second hand CD6003 and buy a new PM6004. For me, the amp has seen the biggest upgrade, although I'm sure you would be very happy with the PM6003 as well.

I don't know where you live, but in the Nethetlands now the Marantz PM 7004 is cheaper than the PM 6004!

Just a thought, but have you already got speakers? If not, it might be worth seeking out a system package on the 6004s. Dealers tend to offer good deals for the CD and amp with a pair of budget speakers. 6004s + Dali Zensor 1s or 6004s + Monitor Audio BX2 would make a great system.
