Marantz cd 63 mk11ki(upgraded to level 1) vs marantz cd6003

hi i am thinking of investing in a new cd player and i have the chance of a upgraded cd63ki at a really good price before this came along my mind was set on the cd6003. i would be very grateful for your opinions on this.

Any opinions? Anyone? I, too, would love to see what experienced forum members think.

Personally, having owned a modded KI Sig myself, I am voting for the older machine. However, that might be the problem: age. I've never heard the CD6003 and so cannot comment on a direct comparison, but the KI Sig is such a class piece of kit, I doubt the new pretender could match it!

Agreed - still own mine, but then haven't heard the CD6003 to compare either I'm afraid...

Mine's not going anywhere just yet - probably destined for second system status in the near future. Arguably overkill for the Sound Police's needs, though!

No contest, go for the older machine. The only thing better about the 6003 is its styling.

Plus if anything goes wrong with the CD-63 it's still easy to get replacement parts.
