I bought the Silver-line for my Onkyo 905 and, although it helped, I didn't think it warranted the price. I sent it back for a Copper-line Alpha and am very happy with this.

Somewhere on this forum, Darren from Clearer Audio gives an explanation as to why this may be - it was last year sometime! But given the money back guarantee, feel free to do your own experimentation or just email Darren for more info - he's a friendly fella and I'm sure he'll happily respond to your queries!ÿ

AV amps benefit greatly from cutting down on the RFI on the Mains I find.
I think because the of the far bigger transformers needed to supply up to 7 x 200W the effect that high mains power distortion has on the signal rails is high.

The best solution I have found is to buy a large BT unit, but these are not easy to get hold of as they are not made anymore.

Another poster on this site put me onto this.....
www.airlinktransformers.com/transformer/bp1500-bp1500-balanced-power-supply.asp
Now I haven't personally tried it, but it should be very effective, they do a 2000va unit as well which is the one I would go for personally.

You should get a really clean and stable mains supply of a much higher quality than is possible using Mains leads.

Let us know how you get on.

now I am very confused I did not told you but I am a bit ignorant when it comes to mains but would love to learn from what I understand from you I should go for that BPS would make a huge diffference compare to main leads like what i was going for or shall i combine both to get the best would love some good teaching here

Well, I can't tell you do that for definite in your system (too many variables!), but that's certainly what I found in my testing. You should be able to get through to Darren through email (enquiries@cleareraudio.com) or phone (01702 543981) - details can also be found on their website by clicking on "About Us" tab at the top.

If the silver-line is indeed made of silver then id hazard a guess it wasnt 'run in' enough. EVERY silver cable ive ever used has needed MONTHS of running in before the system sounded as it should

Take your point but part of the service Clearer Audio offers is what they describe as "advanced burning in for ultimate performance" so you would think this should take care of that. As I say, I'm pretty sure the Silver-line was just overkill for my system. I'm sure it would fit in nicely with a much higher end system where the differences between the two might well be more appreciable.

Fair enough

Id personally say that it didnt make much (if any) difference as the cables dont remove any RFI as far as I can tell. So the only difference in those 2 cables is ones copper and ones silver and they only prevent airnourne EMI (You should try a 16 core braided cable sometime mate as they DO reduce mains bourne RFI)

Ive found silver doesnt do much personally (except maybe on tvs and amps)

They have them HERE

Although theyre not on the site at this time simply send them an email asking about them for a quote (about 55 quid a meter I think)

I can testify that ive tried quite a few different makes of mains leads ranging from stock, Isotek, Russ Andrews, Nordost etc

ALL mains on my syste are now 16 core solid copper or solid silver machine braided. The difference they have made to EVERY component (Once burned in, silver takes months) is WELL worth the cost. My tv looks incredible at times.

Fitting one to my PS3 has made the surround effects far clearer. Ditto my dvd player (As well as slightly clearer pics)

Bass was light until I fitted one to my main amp. The biggest difference by far was to my denon pre amp which made a HUGH difference to the sound.

Some people say they cant/dont make a differerence. Some people are staying 'on the wall'. I'll say for absolute CERTAIN that they DO make a difference (In MY setup at least)

If you have a perfect mains supply and NO airbourne EMI emmisions then theyre not going to make any difference (Or very little)

But I highly doubt anyone here has a PERFECT mains supply

Well thats the solid silver version. But they do make a solid copper version too (about a 3rd of the price)

If connecting to an amp then id recommend the silver. Anything else and id recommend copper
