Low or High Gain (HD600 with Magni 3)

Hello, I bought a pair of Sennheiser's HD600 and they sound great. I also use the Schiit magni 3 as an amp. My questions is, which gain mode is better, low or high? I understand that I should choose the one that I like the most, but someone said that if I use the high gain mode I could damage the headphones and have more distortion. Let me know what you think.

Use whichever setting allows normal, comfortable use with the volume control between its 10 and 12 o' clock position.
Ask the person who told you about damaging the headphones....to try it.
(Their ears will be damaged long before the headphones).

If you ever hear any distortion, it won't be from the headphones. If it is, then you're listening too loud for your own good.
