Logitech Harmony 1000 and RF Extender help?!?!?

I have just purchased a Logitech Harmony 1000 remote from the USA. I had an RF Extender that I used with my 895 before the wife 'accidentally broke it!'

Problem being tha I have found out subsequesntly, is that the European RF extender is incompatibly with the USA remote.

Now, before I have to purchase another one, is there any way of changing the frequency of the RF Extender to make it compatible?

I have to say, I've never heard of that before, have you undated the firmware in each of them, you may find once it knows your country, it will automatically alter the frequency to suit.
