I need some help fixing this problem on the Pioneer 320

Right first of all i watch SKY HD Movies alot connected up to Denon 2310 and never get any Lip Sync issues ever !

My problem is with the Pioneer 320 that runs over HDMI ! when ever i watch a DVD or HD Movie the sound is out of Sync with the voice of the actor on the screen , its starting to drive me mad, is there any way to fix this problem with out having to use the Manual lip sync , I must admit i did try that but im finding it impossibe to get it totally right :(

I did think about matching it up with the sound from the TV speakers but for some odd reason my Receiver is stoping me from using the speaker sound from the TV ?

Basicly i would like some advice from someone else that owns the Pioneer 320 and advise on how you have it all setup. Cheers Jason.

Hi Jas,

Page 30 of Denon manual shows you two things:

1) How to put on 'Auto Lip Sync': check it's on.

2) 'HDMI Audio Out'. Change to tv to get the sound going to your tv rather than amp/speakers.

If both are ok on the amp, best check the Pioneer manual (Sorry-got a sony blu ray). Do you decode in the receiver, or blu ray player?

I have not had these problems with my Denon 2310 and Sony blu ray....good luck and I hope I've helped....

hi

i have the 320 connected to a pioneer amp same setup as you but pioneer amp. basically i didnt do any adjustments and it worked like a dream out of the box. although when it recognised it was connected to a kuro tv it did any ness adjustments itself.

just had a look at the menu on the 320 and no lip sync settings are turned on. so i would think its something either in ur amp or tv.

all the best

andy.

I think it might be the HDMI lead as i purchased one from ebay for £5.00

I don't think it is your HDMI...or at least it's not solely responsible. I have a Van De Hul The Flat HDMI lead and I've had issues too, however I only get it with DVD's for some reason. Gets on my nerves too! I'm sure there is a solution though, although I fear that there maybe some compatibility issues between the player, amp and / or screen.

Hopefully there will be a firmware update for it.
EDIT: I just noticed that there is a firmware update on Pioneer's website from the 27th August 2009. I bought my 320 before this date and not updated it since. As so many people have not had issues it could be that this update fixes the problem. I will give it a try at the weekend.
