Question CD spinning noise?

I have a Panasonic PMX800.

Some CDs are quiet, but some make a whirring sound for up to 8 seconds. After that, they are fine.

These sounds are coming from the CD spinning.

The speakers are great, and there are no issues with playback.

Is this normal? I did some research and it seems many CD players do this.

Check it's not a Taylor Swift CD. They all sound like that!

I think it's the Table of Contents being read. Provided it's quiet when listening I wouldn't worry.

That's good. You can hear it when the CD starts for a few seconds, but only if it's quiet.
