I am new here so take in easy on me when it comes to HI FI i am a bit like Fred Flintstone.

Iam looking for Help as to best setup, the two in question are

Linn DS-I vs Linn Separates ie Majik 2100 Power Amp - Majik Cd - Kontrol Pre Amp - Akurate Tuner.

I have Majik 109 speakers with Linn Classik K music at the moment and want to upgrade.

Thanks for your HELP.

It would all depend on what you are looking to listen to. If you want to listen to cd's then go separate. If however you want to put all your music in one place, on a NAS drive and have access to it all in the form of FLACS without the use of a physical cd, then the DS-I is the way to go. I have the DS-I and find I am listening to music I forgot I had after putting it all on the NAS drive.

I am very satisfied with the sound of it all and totally impressed at the choice now on offer. You can hook up a cd player to the DS-I too if you want.

I would say audition a DS-I alongside the separate system if you are set on Linn equipment before making any decision.

Hi, juxter , Thanks for your advice, i listen to a lot of radio. I am a bit surprised to here you say that playing cd on a cd player sounds better than DS-I .Is there any way i can keep my Linn Classik K music and add some separates to improve the sound ,and save a few ££ ?.I hope you can make sense what i am trying to say.Thanks.
