Hello people in the know,

I've just moved house and have had to get a new router as now im getting broadband through adsl, i've since purchased the above router and i know theres a way of prioritising the wireless signal to the ps3 for online gaming.

Now i'm not to bad at putting a home cinema system together and tweaking that but this wifi stuff is a whole new ball game to me and quite frankly i'm well stuck.

Is there anyone that could point me in the right direction about tweaking the router and is it really worth it?

Thankyou.

Not sure about the exact setting for that router, but you should be able to put the PS3 outside the 'NAT' which will circumvent its firewall

alienRIK ,i take it that would have to be done at the router? And would this have anything to do with a static IP address or am i going in a completely different direction?

Make a note of the PS3's mac address in Settings -> Network Settings
->Settings and Connection Status List.

You set up a QOS rule for your PS3.

In your router - probably under advanced settings

Enable QOS

Enter the ps3's mac address in the QOS rule, set priority 1 and just tell it to apply all ports, all ip ranges for both TCP & UDP

If your ping is high u can ask your ISP to change your profile from Interleave to Fastpath.

(Fastpath lower ping - interleave more stable)

Thank you for your advice edsib1.

My router has now been set up for ps3 priority.

Now on to ping speed, what would you say was high?

Mine ranges from 57-92 and im not really sure if thats good or bad.

Just had a look on a site called ping test.net and it graded my ping in band A (very good) and the ping speed was 27ms, if they say its good should i take that it is?

thats a fast ping.

Slow would be over 100ms to reach a uk site from elsewhere within uk.
