hi,

newbie question.

I have an amplifier with line out and pre-amp out and I have a second amplifier with only line out. I would like to hook em up together because they both have functions lacking the other. I also have two pairs of speakers. I want to connect 1 pair to each of them.

Should I link the pre-amp out of amp 1 to line in of amp 2 or is it better to use line out of amp 1 to line in of amp 2?

And can I, at the same time, link amp 2 via line out to a line in of amp 1?

Regards,

VDS

My best speakers are connected to amp1 but that amp doesn't have streaming capability. I want to route the streaming from amp2 to amp 1. (Line out amp2 to Line in amp1?)

Amp 1 doesn't have a headphones out, but amp2 does. My turntables are connected to amp1 and I want to listen to them via headphones on amp2. (pre-amp out amp1 or line out amp1 to Line in amp2?)

Main thing I need to know whether linking a line out of an amp to another amp is dangerous or what I have to be aware of no to overpower anything.

The easiest way is to use the tape loop record out connections on one amp to connect to one of the line inputs on the other. There is no risk in doing that.
