The best TV we had for longitivity was a Panasonic Quintex 21 inch CRT with Dolby Pro Logic built in that had a 5 year warranty as standard purchased in 1993. It lasted for 8 years before the Tube blew. The replacement Panny TX-32PD30 is now 6 years old and is still going strong. How good are the Plasma/LCD sets in comparison?

The new range of Panasonic plasmas should last a least 60,000 hours of viewing, which at an average of 8 hours a day is about 20 years worth if my dodgy maths is correct.

i got a 21" tosh when they were £300 with mono sound. it ran 24/7 till 3 years ago when its contrast wasn't up to scratch anymore. Perhaps 8 years constant use. Bad area.. needed the security.

many waiting room sets run 24/7 for a good few years. 60,000 hours minimum is pleanty though. Im just sayin..
