Hi all

Been a very long time since I was on here and very out of touch with TVs.

To cut to the chase, I am looking to upgrade my sony KDL55-W829 that I'll be moving to another room. Through my work, I can get an LG OLED55B6V for £1500, which is a steal given the £2800 rrp. I haven't seen that particular model yet, but have seen the E6V in JL (which I believe is the same TV with 3D), and thought the picture was amazing.

However, I also saw the Samsung UE55KS7000 alongside it, and thought the picture was just as good if not slightly more natural.

Given the Samsung is £1500, I struggle to understand the £1300 rrp premium for the LG. I'm also a little nervous about logevity of OLED given I'd only get 12 months warrenty, vs getting the 5 years from JL. Perhaps it was just down to the content being shown and/or the picture settings.

Thoughts?

Definitely buy the LG, it's an absolute bargain, you could sell it for a lot more! OLED are the best TVs out, they are better than Pioneer Kuros by some way. You are getting 4K too and HDR which is great, all you need to do is to buy a Samsung k8500 4K blu Ray player now or you could stream. The black levels on the LG are amazing. It's a no brainer buy the LG OLED.

OLED is a self emitting technology which is superior to LED lit LCD technology. Recent reports have suggested that OLED lifespan will be at least as much as plasma, about 30 years:

.

Reason not getting 5 years on LG, is that my work has a huge corporate deal with them and they supply direct for our staff salary sacrifice scheme discounts.
