So.... despite my glowing-ish review (in another thread) there are a few issue with the screen and I'd welcome any thoughts before I return the set...

Two issues in particular. When I turn the set on, using the input Freesat External HDD (Samsung SMT-7800, via Denon 3312 AVR), I get some coloured/rainbow dots around part of the edge. These show up along the entire bottom side of the screen and half-way up the right side. Two images are below:

When I switch to use a different input, or bring up the EPG, they tend to resolve and disappear, but I am concerned that there's an underlying problem which may get worse.

Second issue - when switching to Netflix via the inbuilt app in the LG OLED, I get a weird white glow in the bottom right corner (same corner where the rainbow dots focus), but it only shows up on the "who is watching (Grown-ups/Kids)" and it disappears as soon as I select.

Thoughts? thanks!

If the rainbow dots disappear when you play the same file over the same cable to a different tv input, its the tv's input that's faulty.

The 2nd problem is a bit puzzling to me. Either way, I would report it and see if you can exchange the tv for a new one. Better be save than sorry...

Emailed the customer care email address with links to the fault (as it's a difficult thing to explain to someone). That was 4 days ago, and no-one acknowledged/responded to the email.

Had to telephone customer care, and spoke to tech support who checked whether firmware was uptodate (it was), then suggested a factory reset - did that and the coloured dots immediately showed up as soon as freesat box came on. He is blaming the freesat box, so will have to switch to inbuilt tuners for a bit, I guess and hope to recreate the fault.

Apparently the 30 day return is from date of purchase (NOT date of delivery, which is a very sneaky thing to do).

Currys not covering themselves in glory here...
