I guess that's a pretty good deal?

I need a new TV. My first choice was perhaps not OLED but I may go for this one. Can't and don't want to accommodate a larger size.

I also don't want or need the soundbar so can probably sell this which would bring the price of the screen down to nearly £900 ...

Coming from a 5 year old Samsung QLED which decided it will only switch on very slowly in colder weather 🙂. Otherwise a brilliant TV and much enjoyed by everyone.

Certainly sounds like a good deal. I'm usually wary of buying TVs with less than 5 years warranty, but YMMV.
That's a good point which I did not consider. Upon looking LG only offer 5 year warranties with the top of the line G panels, not the C4. I can purchase additional warranty from Amazon but that costs hundreds.

I guess buying from john lewis or RS would be the same price if they give automatic 5 year warranties.

No mention of this in the WhatHifi Discount alert. Perhaps I should say 'when is a good deal not a good deal' ... . May return this and purchase from RS instead. especially as it's an OLED and I do watch Sky News and Youtube regularly.

This looks a good deal too:

Or try Harvey Norman. £899 there with a 5 year warranty.

Better soundbar and gift code.

Or get Richer Sounds to price match.

They all look like better deals. Just shows, do your home work first.

I believe a couple of years ago LG offered 5 year warranties on all OLED TV's but they since retracted this. I wonder why.

Price aside, is the LG a good choice? I only had a quick glance at it at Curry's where all TV's are in the horrible max everything setting which no one uses. So said, it seemed quite a bit brighter than the B4 and Sony X something OLED.

Do you have a bright room or a dark room? If you have a bright room I personally would recommend the Samsung S95D from John Lewis for £1400 but you get a free £500 soundbar and £150 voucher. The LG C4 is a very good choice but won’t be as bright as the G4 or Samsung 55S95D. The Samsung 55S90D is not QD-OLED like the Samsung s95D so won’t be as bright as Its just an OLED TV. The G5 is coming out soon, so is the c5 and new Samsung TVs.

So you might want to hang on for better deals on the older models. Keep searching around everyday and see what’s on offer. The C4 deal at Harvey Norman for £899 has just included the flagship soundbar ucs9 LG I would probably try and get Richer Sounds or someone else to price match, although I don’t think they have stock at present but you can still order. I would pay in 3 instolements if buying from Harvey Norman through Klarna I use this method all the time for paying for stuff.

If you are worried about screen burn and plan to watch a lot of the news channels then maybe this Samsung might be a good idea:

Better deals here with free soundbar:

Or get the flagship QLED and blacks will be nearly as good as OLED TVs:

Thank you. I went to the Norman site and can see the £899 deal although I can't see a flagship soundbar included. They also don't offer a long warranty as far as I can see which I'd rather have than a soundbar.

EDIT; I saw the soundbar offer in the small print, thanks.

I know this sounds strange but I prefer a glossy screen. I believe the top Samsung ones are matte.

The long term warranty is at the bottom of the web page, it says something like 48 months.

It might even make sense to buy it straight from Richer Sounds with the current deal:

£50 cheaper than John Lewis and free delivery I guess at John Lewis I believe you pay £25 for delivery. That £75 could make up for not getting the voucher from John Lewis for £150 and the soundbars there is not much difference between the 2 on offer.

And you would have some cover over screen burn buying from Richer Sounds with there guy who works on this and AV Forums for Richer Sounds covering up the in store errors. Be a 6 year warranty too.
