LF shakers - anybody tried?

I recently bumped into low-frequency transducers like this one. http://www.thebuttkicker.com/home_theater/products/bk_lfe_kit.htm

Does anybody have them or maybe tried them in a showroom or smth? What is the effect like? would it add some subtle deep tactile sensation from bass at low volume or is it a vibrating gimmick?

We have tried some in the past, and were less than convinced.

These sort of things are used on stage for drummers when bands use in-ear monitors. It allows the drummer to feel the kick drum better. They are attached to the drum stool or "throne" depending on how famous you are 🙂
